Artist Jae Dougall was born in the Philippines, and now makes her home in Canada. Influenced by Dutch Modernists, her style is distinctive and immediately recognizable. Bringing bold, vivid colors, and creating almost musical lines, with bold strokes, Jae starts her works with dark grounds, surfacing to light and structure with intense colors. Ephemeral Creation is indicative of her process, with abstract zones of neutrals, dark reds, warm browns, and subtle hints of turquoise.
